As the Annual Meeting draws near, I’d like to share my thoughts on how I get the absolute most out of the experience. After all, the Annual Meeting is the best insurance meeting on the planet. Here are my top two ideas for taking full advantage of the Annual Meeting.
1. Have a game plan.
To maximize the days of the meeting, I find it helpful to come up with a game plan prior to making the trip. I take some time to think through each of the afternoon topics and then decide which topic I’d really like to become more knowledgeable about. Because it is impossible to attend all the sessions, I visit the Power Center and purchase CDs of the sessions I miss.
2. Get involved.
Perhaps the best advice I can give members to benefit truly from the Annual Meeting is to get involved. Going to the meeting by yourself can be quite lonely, so make a point to become active in one way or another. Sign up to be a part of the traffic or registration committees, or better yet, the first-time orientation task force. You’ll automatically get plugged into a vast network of other agents. Truth be told, some of my best friends are people I’ve worked with over the years at the Annual Meeting.
How do you get the most out of your Annual Meeting experience? And, which sessions are you looking forward to most?
