Unlike President Bush, Most Boomers Need Retirement Solutions

MDRT Immediate Past President Philip E. Harriman, CLU, ChFC

Last week, the world’s most powerful Baby Boomer – George W. Bush – celebrated his 60th birthday. And, while the media focused on the U.S. President’s entry into “old age,” he was actually only one of approximately 8,000 people who celebrated their 60th birthday that day. In fact, that many people in the U.S. will turn 60 each day for the next 15 years.

Unlike President Bush, a majority of Boomers are not prepared for a secure and comfortable retirement. That’s why MDRT has embarked on its efforts to develop solutions via the BoomertirementTM Industry Summit, which was previously featured in our June 6 Blog post.

To develop effective and innovative solutions for our Boomer clients, we must capitalize on the front-line expertise of the world’s premier life insurance and financial services professionals – MDRT members.

I want to hear from you! Please share examples of how you are helping Baby Boomers in your community navigate their retirement challenges.
