To be defined in life as successful means different things to different people. However, each person can follow the same “discovery” process to recognize what motivates them to reach their life ambitions through experiences. In order to realize your personal success, take what I like to call a journey of self “DISCOVERY.”
Dissect – to discover oneself. Ask yourself, who am I and why am I here?
Involvement – who is involved in your life and what are you involved in? Are you involved in your family, career and/or community?
Savvy – to have the knowledge of knowing what should be done for you and others around you. Do you share your insight? Are you a resource person?
Commitment – the act of committing yourself to whatever it is you agree to do for as long as it takes. Do you follow through with your responsibilities?
Outlook – to look at situations as you never have before. Is the glass half full or half empty? Are you an optimistic person?
Vitality – make sure you have enough energy to see a task all the way through. Are you eating right and getting enough sleep to carry out your commitments?
Empathy – make it a point to fully understand what others are going through. Do you put yourself in other’s shoes?
Risk – to take a risk in order to advance in life. Have you ever taken a chance to make a positive change?
Yes – I am an enlightened and empowered person defined by relationships and personal experiences! Do you have the ability to balance relationships and obligations?
Defining ourselves is a process that includes recalling past experiences and combining them with the present. Please take a minute to think about the questions above, while you DISCOVER what defines you as a person.
