How to Work a Room

Whether it’s during a meeting, at a gathering with friends and acquaintances, or even just in the elevator at your office building – networking with new people is key to our success.  To network effectively in any environment, we should:

  •  Look the part
  • Carry enough business cards, a smart pen and notepaper to take notes
  • Enter a room with confidence and a smile
  • Spot the loner and identify groups
  • Keep active and move around regularly
  • Introduce yourself effectively
  • Filter out time wasters
  • Generate profitable prospects to fill appointments
  • Get people sufficiently interested in us to want us to call them
  • Educate prospects on the fact that we are different

What are your tips to network efficiently?
