MDRT is the Premier Association of Financial Professionals®. Or, would it be more accurate to say the “association of premier financial professionals?” In other words, is the association unique or is it the members themselves that make MDRT special?
The answer, it seems to me, is both. MDRT provides a number of opportunities and experiences that cannot be found with other professional organizations. The member leaders, committee chairs and staff have always done an exceptional job running the organization.
But in my 34 years as an MDRT member, I believe the greatest value has come from the opportunity to interact with some of the most successful professionals in the business. Over time, the value of MDRT membership depends on the level of professionalism, and level of involvement, of all members.
As such, the focus of my MDRT presidency is on continuing to improve the value that each of us as members brings to the table. We’re implementing higher production standards and purchasing power parity to assure those standards are applied fairly around the world. We have a goal of making all MDRT members among the top 5 percent of income earners within their own country by 2010.
We’re encouraging and supporting efforts of all MDRT members for continuing education and certification. Whether you’ve been a member for a year or more than 30 years, you should continue to learn and grow – and to share your expertise with other members.
MDRT is the Premier Association of Financial Professionals. During the coming year I hope you’ll see and understand the steps we are taking to assure that we stay that way.
