What a joy to work with the Executive Committee of the Million Dollar Round Table, and see, up close and personal, the wonderful leaders who have dedicated five years to helping MDRT maintain its status as the Premier Association of Financial Advisors. I am indeed fortunate to be part of this group as MDRT Second Vice President.
In this new year, I have been working closely with our Membership Communications Committee (MCC). This group of hard working leaders is bringing the MDRT message to the 78 member countries around the world. Our network is organized to bring practical sales ideas and the value of MDRT membership directly to the licensed agents throughout the world. What a task! But the MCC is certainly up to it.
Mentoring has also been a major focus for us this year. We want to open up the opportunity for aspirants to connect with proven MDRT producers so they can accelerate their professional growth and production. The MDRT/GAMA International Mentoring Program has been active for a number of years and has a proven track record of success. Over 10,000 aspirants have gone through the program. It is time to bring this highly-acclaimed program to our members internationally.
One other task the Executive Committee has focused on this year, has been updating the MDRT Web site. I hope you have had a chance to take an in-depth look around the site. If not, visit it when you have a chance. We have upgraded the graphics and added an exciting feature — MDRTV. Our volunteer member techies have spent hours working on our Web site to make it a true member benefit.
Having recently traveled to Australia, New Zealand, Singapore, Japan and India I can tell you firsthand MDRT is having a major influence in those countries. Agents are anxious to hear about MDRT and learn how they can increase their production and become members. When asked why MDRT is important, the common denominator is interesting. Virtually everyone says the same thing — they love the Whole Person concept. They love the fact that MDRT stresses more than just making money — that we believe a well-rounded life is important.
