Whether young, old, single or married, preparing for the financially unexpected is always a good idea. September is Life Insurance Awareness Month (LIAM), which is a great time to provide our clients with the necessary Lifeboats to safeguard their loved ones in the event of their untimely passing.
The nonprofit Life and Health Insurance Foundation for Education (LIFE) understands the difficulty advisors often face in getting clients to recognize the importance of life insurance. Life Insurance Awareness Month is supported by more than 100 of the nation’s leading life insurance companies and trade associations.
As financial advisors, we need to intensely communicate to our clients the financial burden their death could pose to those who matter most to them if the appropriate safety nets aren’t in place. But, awareness is just the beginning. We also must help our clients realize how much life insurance they will need and guide them based upon their individual situation.
Sixty-eight million adult Americans have no life insurance and those who do have far less than they need at only four times their annual income. It is within your power to keep your clients from becoming part of this statistic.
